What is the TestAS Exam?
The Test for Academic Studies (TestAS) is a central, standardized scholastic aptitude test for foreign students from non-EU countries who plan to pursue their undergraduate (Bachelor’s) studies at a German university.
Developed by the Society for Academic Study Preparation and Test Development (g.a.s.t.), and supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), TestAS measures the cognitive and intellectual abilities necessary for successful academic studies in Germany.
Note: In India, TestAS is part of the application process for placement at a German university through the procedures of the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS).

TestAS Exam Structure
You can choose to take the TestAS in either English or German, depending on the language of your target bachelor’s program. The exam consists of two main parts:
The Core Test (General Aptitude)
- Duration: 110 minutes

Solving Quantitative Problems
Mathematical reasoning and numerical problem-solving
Inferring Relationships
Logical deduction and recognizing connections between concepts
Recognizing Patterns
Identifying recurring patterns in abstract sequences

Deducing the rule behind number sequences and extending them
